Indigenous Aboriginal Mission

Terra Nullius, “land belonging to no one”. This was the principle that legalized British settlement in Australia, declaring that there were no indigenous people civilized enough to have any legitimate claim to the land. From the 1910s into the 1970s, there was an active policy now known as the “Stolen Generation” when somewhere between an estimated 1 in 10 or up to 1 in 3 indigenous children were removed from their families and communities for their “protection” and assimilation into White Australian society. Government policies allowed for this, but churches often aided in the work in both helpful and hurtful ways.

The history of Indigenous Aboriginal missions in Australia is checkered to say the least. We are prayerfully looking for missionaries to serve the Indigenous Aboriginal peoples of Australia in a pioneering work.
